The main part of PairSoft’s welcoming, collaborative environment is its people. This month, we sat down with Amit, the head of PairSoft’s HR operations in India, to learn more about what makes our organization unique in India and why his dream vacation is the biggest EDM festival in the world.

What’s your role at PairSoft, and what does it entail?

I work as a Senior HR Executive at PairSoft. I head the India HR operations of PairSoft, which includes key HR aspects such as talent acquisition, employee relations, employee engagement, payroll, and labor laws compliance, to name a few.

Which city are you based out of, and what’s your favorite thing to do during weekends there?

I am based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is an amazing city and has a fantastic riverfront where I like to spend my weekends gazing at the beautiful Sabarmati River with an excellent cold brew!

How did you first get into human resources?

Well, it’s a story: After my bachelor’s degree, I did a PG Diploma with HR Specialization, but I went into automobile sales first in 2014. I didn’t quite feel like I belonged there because my heart always wanted to be in the human resources field, so my sales team lead recommended me to an HR firm co-founder who had recently purchased a car from the dealership. They interviewed me and offered me a job, and since then I have never looked back.

What do you think is the number-one thing people should know about the SaaS industry?

Well, there is an amazing opportunity that I am seeing in the SaaS domain. SaaS can be especially advantageous for small businesses because it provides access to expensive, high-powered software that might have been otherwise unobtainable through conventional purchasing methods. Also, the subscription-based method eliminates the extreme financial risk of expensive software.

What do you find to be one of the most innovative aspects of PairSoft as an organization?

Our value-driven culture is the most innovative, and it is the biggest differentiator that I am seeing in the market. Candidates in 2022 are preferring not only an organization that is providing them with the opportunity to grow their career, but they are also looking for a culture that is more human and value-driven. We as an organization are innovative, supportive, transparent, and advocates for not only PairSoft but also for our own growth, and for making our customers’ lives better. Also, the flexibility we provide for our employees and the trust we put in them plays a significant role in making sure that our value-driven culture is always alive and thriving.

What do you find to be a unique aspect of working in India that your colleagues around the world may not experience?

It is diverse! Thanks to our remote-first work culture, in India, we have employees from all over the country. Our India HQ is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat; however, we have employees from different states of India such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Punjab, to name a few. PairSoft India is home to around 80 individuals who come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and share a common passion for making this organization and our customers’ lives better every day. Not only that, but being a part of this global remote-first organization also gives me an opportunity to learn different languages and cultures from our colleagues all over the world.

Someone has hit the Reset button on your life and allowed you to choose any career possible. What do you choose?

Well, I would still choose HR on any day over anything because I just love my profession, but if you remove HR from the equation, then I would say I would be a full-time electronic music producer and a DJ because that is my second love when it comes to career choices.

And, finally: You’re given an unlimited budget for a vacation this summer. Where are you going and why?

This is an easy one! Tomorrowland in Belgium because I am a big-time electronic music fan, and I would love to see my favorite DJs play their sets at the biggest festival of the summer.
