The main part of PairSoft’s welcoming, collaborative environment is its people. This month, we sat down with Viorel, our Global Head of Customer Support, to gather his thoughts on the advantages of SaaS and his intergalactic take on travel. What’s your role at PairSoft, and what does it entail?
My role here at PairSoft is Global Head of Customer Support, leading our cross-product and support teams around the world. Driving initiatives, defining procedures, and finding the right wheels to turn in order to reach 100% customer satisfaction is what I live for.
Which city are you based out of, and what’s your favorite thing to do during weekends there?
I live in Suceava, a city carved by 1,000 years of history, located in in the northern part Romania. On the weekends I like exploring the nearby mountains or simply walking through the parks, a quiet snack by the river at sunset or fun at a festival, all shared with my amazing family and friends.
How did you first get into customer support?
It is hard to put a date on it…even as a teenager, I was the “someone who you can call to help you with your PC issues” everyone needed. After working on the application backend for a few years, I returned to my old addiction: direct interaction with the end-user. So, around 15 years ago, I started working professionally in customer support.
What do you think is the number-one thing people should know about the SaaS industry?
No more boundaries for your business! Accessible from anywhere, scale up or down at will, razor-sharp cost control, at-hand cutting-edge technology and security measures, and the list can go on. SaaS can both handle your apps and turn your hardware-heavy offices into quiet working environments.
What do you find to be one of the most innovative aspects of PairSoft as an organization?
What intrigued me most with PairSoft is that on top of helping businesses get rid of their hardware by offering a SaaS model, our products take it to the next level and aim to remove the huge mountains of paper that many departments are drowning in. PairSoft gives customers back what we all yearn for: time!
What do you find to be a unique aspect of working in Europe that your colleagues around the world may not experience?
Given the global remote work environment we find ourselves in, it would be hard to find advantages or disadvantages from one continent to another. I am, however, a 2–3-hour flight away from Paris, Rome, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Dubai, Cairo…
Someone has hit the Reset button on your life and allowed you to choose any career possible. What do you choose?
The same, I love it and there is still much to learn and do. But since you’re asking about something else than this, then…gardening. Basically, still customer support, but for plants.
And, finally: You’re given an unlimited budget for a vacation this year. Where are you going and why?
Space. If by just looking at a simple world map you find yourself thinking how close we all are to each other, imagine how enlightening a perspective of Earth from outer space would be.
